Where we are
Hotel Villa del Poeta is located in via Zane, 5 (provincial route # 21, "del Poeta"), 500 metres from the Parish Church and Petrarch's tomb. Driving uphill, just before getting into the main square of Arquà. , turn left following signs "Arquà Nord-Ovest" and "Cinto Euganeo".
On bank holidays the village centre is closed to cars, but still you can reach the hotel following this route.
Travelling by car
Arquà Petrarca lies on the southern part of the Euganean Hills, at short distance from Monselice (3 kilometres) and Este (5 km). Easy access from motorway A13 Padua - Bologna and from national route 16 "Adriatica".
From the North
A13 motorway Padova – Bologna, exit Terme Euganee. After leaving the motorway, turn right and again right at the following intersection. You'll reach the National Route # 16 Adriatica. On your right hand side, beyond a canal, you'll be able to see the huge Catajo castle. Proceed along the national route, pass the village of Battaglia Terme, and at the first traffic light, turn right. Villa Emo is half-hidden among the trees, and on a height at your right hand side stands Villa Selvatico. A 3 kilometers' ride among the hills will lead you to the poet's Village. You might have to be patient at a railway intersection... To evoid it, there's another itinerary, a bit longer but really a scenic drive! From National Route 16 ("Adriatica") just passed Catajo Castle, turn right towards Galzignano Terme, following the cycling path; keep right and underpass the railway line. Reach the first roundabout and follow indications to Arquà. If you are not in a hurry, follow indications to Galzignano Terme instead. You'll then reach Valsanzibio villa and garden and the golf course. Along the way, vineyards, wine cellars and olive mills. Arquà Petrarca is just few kilometers away.
From the South
A13 motorway Padova – Bologna, exit Monselice. In front of you the fortress with the "seven churches" climbing path. Once you get at the first roundabout, follow indications for Arquà Petrarca. Take National Route 16 Adriatica. 5 kilometer further on, turn left towards the hills to reach Arquà Petrarca.
By train
Monselice railway station is about 5 kilometres far from the hotel. Frequent service with regional and intecity trains for Padua / Venice and Ferrara / Bologna. From Monselice you'll reach Padua in about 20 minutes, Ferrara in 40 minutes, Venice in 55 minutes, Bologna in 75 minutes. For more information about train services, log in to www.trenitalia.com. By bus
Sita public buses link Arquà Petrarca with Este, Monselice and Padua. The timetable is availeble here.
